It was almost midnight when Aarav heard a knock on his apartment door.

He wasn't expecting anyone.

When he opened it, a girl stood outside, completely soaked from the rain. She looked familiar, but he couldn't remember where he had seen her before.

“Can I stay here for a while?” she asked softly.

Aarav hesitated, then stepped aside.

She entered, removed her wet jacket, and sat quietly on the sofa. The room suddenly felt smaller. Their eyes met, and neither looked away.

“You know me, don't you?” she whispered.

Aarav smiled nervously. “I think I do.”

She moved closer.

“I've been thinking about you for weeks.”

The rain continued outside as she placed her hand gently over his. The silence between them felt strangely intimate.

Aarav leaned toward her, waiting for her reaction.

She smiled.

“Are you sure?” she asked.

He nodded.

She moved even closer, and for a moment, everything outside that room disappeared—the rain, the city, the time.

Then she whispered, “I wish tonight could last forever.”

Aarav smiled and held her hand.

Neither of them knew that this unexpected night would become the beginning of a relationship they would never forget.
